Who we are
Bridgette Stumpf, Esq.
Bridgette Stumpf is a nationally recognized advocate, nonprofit executive, and systems-change leader committed to transforming how institutions respond to crime and trauma. She is the CEO and co-founder of Volare, a nonprofit providing trauma-informed legal, advocacy, and therapeutic services to survivors of crime.
Since co-founding Volare in 2012, Bridgette has led its evolution from a grassroots startup into a nationally respected organization advancing survivor-centered care. With more than 15 years of experience, she has influenced public policy, built innovative service models, and championed approaches that mitigate the long-term impacts of trauma while centering survivor dignity, equity, and access to justice.
In addition to her leadership at Volare, Bridgette is a certified police instructor and led the launch of Volare’s Trauma Education and Resiliency Training for Leaders, equipping professionals across systems—including law enforcement, legal, and community-based organizations—with practical, trauma-responsive tools. She also serves as an adjunct professor of Victimology and co-teaches Trauma in the Law with Lindsey Silverberg at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in Washington, DC, helping prepare future legal professionals to understand the intersection of trauma, law, and justice.
On TraumaTies, Bridgette brings a bold and compassionate vision for trauma-responsive systems informed by her work as a nonprofit executive, certified police instructor, and legal educator. Drawing on her experience leading trauma education and resiliency training for leaders and teaching Victimology and Trauma in the Law at ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in Washington, DC, she shapes conversations that bridge lived experience, professional practice, and systems change—illuminating what healing-centered justice can look like when survivors are truly centered.
